Why Choose Mid-Calf Classic EVA Sheepskin Boots?

Our Mid-Calf Sheepskin Boots with Classic EVA Sole combine the natural warmth of genuine sheepskin with a lightweight, flexible sole for comfortable everyday wear.

Made in New Zealand from premium genuine twin-face sheepskin, these boots surround your feet and ankles with approximately 22 mm of soft natural wool, while the mid-calf height provides extra warmth without the bulk of a full-height boot.

The lightweight EVA sole makes them an excellent choice for customers who want the comfort of a traditional sheepskin boot for around the home, with the versatility to step outdoors when conditions are suitable.

Premium Genuine Twin-Face Sheepskin

Each pair is crafted from premium-grade genuine twin-face sheepskin.

Unlike footwear with a separate wool or synthetic lining, twin-face sheepskin uses the natural fleece and suede sides of the same skin. Soft wool sits against your feet while the natural suede forms the exterior of the boot.

With approximately 22 mm of dense wool, your feet are surrounded by natural cushioning and insulation from heel to toe.

Mid-Calf Warmth & Everyday Comfort

The mid-calf design provides more coverage and warmth than an ankle boot while remaining lighter and easier to wear than our taller full-calf styles.

It's a versatile height for everyday winter wear, giving your feet, ankles and lower legs the natural comfort of genuine sheepskin.

Whether you're relaxing at home, working from home or heading out for a quick errand, these boots are designed to deliver uncomplicated everyday comfort.

Lightweight Classic EVA Sole

The lightweight EVA sole is what distinguishes our Classic range from our more rugged Ultimate sheepskin boots.

EVA provides a comfortable, lightweight base without adding the weight and bulk of a heavier outdoor sole.

This makes the Mid-Calf Classic particularly suited to:

  • Everyday wear around the home

  • Customers who prefer lightweight footwear

  • Light to moderate outdoor use

  • Anyone wanting a traditional, uncomplicated sheepskin boot

For more demanding outdoor use, our Ultimate range features a heavier TPR sole and more rugged construction.

Naturally Warm & Breathable

One of the great advantages of genuine sheepskin is its ability to provide warmth while remaining naturally breathable.

The wool fibres trap insulating air around your feet while helping manage heat and moisture, creating a comfortable environment inside the boot.

This natural temperature regulation is one of the reasons genuine sheepskin footwear feels so different from synthetic alternatives.

Made in New Zealand

Our Mid-Calf Classic EVA Sheepskin Boots are made in New Zealand, combining premium natural materials with decades of sheepskin footwear craftsmanship.

They're designed for customers who appreciate authentic sheepskin, straightforward styling and the natural comfort that only genuine wool can provide.

Classic Sheepskin Style

The clean, traditional design makes these boots easy to wear throughout the colder months.

Rather than unnecessary embellishments, the focus is on what matters most: genuine sheepskin, dense natural wool, comfortable mid-calf coverage and a lightweight EVA sole.

As genuine sheepskin is a natural material, slight variations in wool texture, suede appearance and colour are part of its character and mean no two pairs are exactly identical.

Choosing Your Size

New genuine sheepskin footwear should feel comfortably snug when first worn.

The dense wool initially occupies more space inside the boot. With wear, it naturally compresses and moulds around the shape of your feet, creating a more personalised fit.

We recommend checking our footwear size guide carefully before ordering. If you're between sizes or prefer additional room, choosing the larger size will generally provide a more relaxed fit.

Classic vs Ultimate – Which Mid-Calf Boot Is Right for You?

Our Classic and Ultimate ranges both provide genuine sheepskin warmth, but the main difference is the construction underfoot.

Choose the Mid-Calf Classic EVA if you prefer:

  • A lightweight EVA sole

  • A lighter, more flexible everyday boot

  • Indoor and light to moderate outdoor use

  • Traditional sheepskin boot styling

Choose the Ultimate Mid Calf if you prefer:

  • A heavier, more substantial outdoor sole

  • Chunky TPR construction

  • A protective toe cap

  • Replaceable foam-backed sheepskin insoles

  • A more rugged boot for outdoor wear

For customers who prioritise lightweight comfort, the Classic EVA is an excellent everyday option.

Indoor Comfort with Outdoor Versatility

The EVA sole allows these boots to be worn both around the home and for light to moderate outdoor use.

However, genuine sheepskin boots are not completely waterproof. We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to heavy rain, standing water, deep snow, wet slush and excessively muddy conditions.

If your boots do become damp, allow them to dry naturally rather than placing them beside a heater or other direct heat source.

Caring for Your Sheepskin Boots

Preventative care is the best way to keep genuine sheepskin footwear looking and feeling its best.

For regular care:

  • Air your boots naturally between wears

  • Allow dry surface dirt to be gently brushed away

  • Light marks can be carefully wiped with a damp cloth

  • Avoid unnecessarily soaking or washing your boots

  • Allow damp boots to dry naturally at room temperature

  • Keep them away from direct sunlight and strong heat

  • Never dry sheepskin directly beside a heater or radiator

  • Once dry, lightly brush the suede with a soft suede brush if required

With appropriate care, genuine sheepskin can provide many seasons of natural warmth and comfort.

Protect Your Boots Before First Wear

We strongly recommend applying our Sheepskin Protector & Water Repellent before wearing your new boots outdoors.

The treatment helps improve the suede's resistance to water, dirt and oily stains and can be reapplied when required.

It is important to remember that protector treatments do not make genuine sheepskin completely waterproof. Your boots should still be protected from prolonged exposure to wet or muddy conditions.

Lightweight New Zealand Sheepskin Comfort

Our Mid-Calf Sheepskin Boots with Classic EVA Sole are an ideal choice if you want more warmth than an ankle boot without moving to a full-calf style.

Premium genuine twin-face sheepskin, approximately 22 mm of natural wool and a lightweight EVA sole come together in a New Zealand-made boot designed for uncomplicated everyday comfort.

From cold mornings at home to quick trips outside, they're a classic way to enjoy the warmth and softness of genuine sheepskin throughout the colder months.

Sheepskin Boot Care

Preserve the comfort and longevity of your sheepskin boots with simple care.

Routine care

Avoid washing unless absolutely necessary. Regularly air your boots to keep them fresh and allow the natural lanolin in the wool to self-clean and resist odours.

Washing

If cleaning is needed, hand wash or use a gentle wool cycle at 30 °C with a mild wool detergent such as our Woolskin Sheepskin Shampoo. Wash separately from other items and rinse thoroughly in cold water. Do not use bleach, enzymes or fabric softeners.

Drying

Press out excess water gently - never wring. Reshape and stuff with paper to retain form. Let them dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or strong heat sources. You can place them near (not on) a warm heater to speed drying safely.

Finishing touch

Once dry, lightly brush the suede with a soft suede brush to restore its texture and natural nap. For extra protection against moisture and stains, apply our Sheepskin Protector & Water Repellent.

With proper care, your boots will stay soft, warm and beautifully supple for seasons to come.

Mid-Calf Sheepskin Boots Classic EVA | New Zealand Made FAQs

Can I wear these boots without socks?
Yes. Many people wear sheepskin boots without socks. The wool lining helps regulate temperature and manage moisture, keeping feet warm without overheating.
How do I clean and care for the boots?
Light dirt can be brushed off once dry using a soft suede brush. For deeper cleaning, spot clean gently and allow to air dry away from direct heat. Using a specialist wool and sheepskin care product helps maintain the wool lining and leather.
How should I store sheepskin boots when not in use?
Store the boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid plastic bags and allow airflow so the wool can breathe and maintain freshness.
