Frequently Asked Questions

Will sheepskin insoles fit my shoes?
Yes, they're designed to be trimmed to size. Place your existing insole on top of the sheepskin insole, trace around it with a pen, and cut with scissors. Both our plain and foam-backed insoles can be shaped this way, so they'll fit work boots, walking shoes, dress shoes or trainers.
What's the difference between plain and foam-backed sheepskin insoles?
Foam-backed insoles have a low-density foam layer on the underside for easy fit and removal, they're the same insoles fitted to our Ultimate boots, so they slide in and out without glue. Plain insoles have no foam backing and are glued in place, used when replacing the original sheepskin in slippers and shoes where the wool has worn down.
Will sheepskin insoles keep my feet warm in winter and cool in summer?
Yes. Wool is naturally thermoregulating, the dense fibres trap warmth in cold weather and release moisture into the air when it's hot. The result is feet that stay at a more even temperature year round, in the same shoes.
Will sheepskin insoles help with sweaty feet or foot odour?
Yes. Wool absorbs up to a third of its weight in moisture without feeling damp, then releases it into the air, which keeps feet drier than synthetic insoles. The natural lanolin in real sheepskin is also antibacterial, which helps reduce odour over time.
How long do sheepskin insoles last and how do I replace them?
With daily wear, expect several months to a year before the wool pile flattens. To replace, lift out the old insole (or peel it free if it's glued), use it as a template to cut a new one, then slide in (foam-backed) or glue in (plain) the replacement. Many customers keep a spare pair so one can air or dry while the other is in use.

Sheepskin Insoles Feel So Good Underfoot

Your feet do a remarkable amount of work every day, so what sits beneath them has a real impact on comfort. Sheepskin insoles feel different because they respond naturally to your body. The dense wool fibres create gentle cushioning while still allowing air to move freely, so your feet feel supported rather than boxed in. That balance is what makes sheepskin comfortable for long wear, not just when you first put your shoes on.

Natural sheepskin helps regulate temperature, keeping feet warm in cooler weather and reducing that hot, clammy feeling when conditions change. The wool fibres draw moisture away from the skin, which improves comfort and helps footwear stay fresher over time. Because these insoles have no backing, they mould easily to your foot and the inside of your shoe, creating a personalised fit.

They are especially good in hard boots that need a softer interior, everyday shoes that could use extra comfort, and even sandals or flip flops (Thongs or Jandals depending on where you live) where you want a natural layer underfoot. They also work well as replacements for worn sheepskin boots or slippers, restoring softness and comfort without replacing the whole pair.
