Frequently Asked Questions
Are sheepskin slippers safe and comfortable for babies and young children?
Yes. Real sheepskin is a natural, breathable fibre with no chemical linings or synthetic glues against the skin. The lanolin in genuine sheepskin is naturally antibacterial, and the wool absorbs and releases moisture, keeping little feet at an even temperature in both summer and winter.
How do I get the right size when children grow so quickly?
Use the Footwear Sizing tab on each product page, it shows international foot length conversions plus the inside measurement of the slipper. Measure your child's foot in centimetres and match to the size chart rather than relying on age. Sheepskin has some natural give, but starting too small is uncomfortable and too big creates trip hazards.
Are the slippers durable enough for active kids running around the house?
Yes. Our Kids Bootie Slipper has an upgraded ridged EVA hard sole with a shaped heel for grip on smooth indoor floors. Wool fibres are extremely resilient, they bend thousands of times without breaking, and side-stitched soles are securely lock-stitched rather than just glued.
How do I clean my child's sheepskin slippers after an accident or spill?
Hand wash only, never the machine. Use Woolskin Wool Wash in cool or lukewarm water (max 40C), or a mild dish-washing liquid if Woolskin isn't to hand. Wash separately, rinse thoroughly, blot with paper towels, reshape and dry slowly out of direct sun and heat. Sponge fresh marks off promptly as they're easier to remove when wet.
Do sheepskin slippers and booties make good gifts for babies, toddlers and grandchildren?
They're one of our most popular gift items, especially around Christmas and for new arrivals. Many customers buy them for grandchildren overseas as a gift that's natural, made in New Zealand and built to last several seasons of growth. Most styles come in chestnut, chocolate or pink, and the booties stay on easily thanks to elasticated openings.
