Great Product, Shite Service

I ordered a Babycare Unshorn Sheepskin a month ago, for a friends' new granddaughter in Canada. The parcel was despatched within a week, and the new mother was delighted with the gift. Everyone happy, right? Yes, until my credit bill arrived - I have been charged over $40 more than shown. That is over 30% extra! And is certainly contrary to The Commerce Commission guidelines on surcharges etc. Their webpage states categorically " you must be informed of any surcharge before you pay!" That certainly didn't happen. I entered into debate with the company, questioning the amount. Here is a sentence from one of their replies. " Being based in New Zealand, we have no control over the international currency exchange rate or any additional conversion fees that your bank or card provider may charge..
Mmm. I purchased this NZ product from a NZ company paying in NZ currency. My bank doesn't charge extra costs (I checked), but NZSheepskin will not alter their stance. I have now forwarded my concerns to The Commerce Commission.
