Universal Easy-Fit Design

Our Long Wool Sheepskin Car Seat Covers feature a universal-fit design suitable for most vehicle seats with suitable headrests up to approximately 30 cm (12 inches) wide.

The overall cover length is approximately 142 cm (56 inches), measured from the top of the headrest, down the seat back and across to the front edge of the seat base.

The headrest section features a flexible backing designed to stretch over most standard headrests. Adjustable hook-and-loop straps then help hold the cover securely in position.

The remainder of the sheepskin sits naturally over the front of your existing seat rather than completely enclosing it. This simple design also helps retain access to storage pockets on the rear of many vehicle seats.

Because this is a universal rather than vehicle-specific fitted cover, the exact appearance and coverage will vary depending on the shape and dimensions of your seat.

Fitting Your Sheepskin Car Seat Cover

Installation is straightforward and does not require completely removing your existing vehicle upholstery.

Where possible, lower the headrest and gently stretch the flexible top section of the cover over it.

Position the sheepskin naturally down the seat back and across the seat base, then feed the adjustable straps through and beneath the seat to help hold the cover securely in position.

When positioning the straps, always take care to avoid electrical wiring, sensors, seat motors, rails and other mechanisms beneath the seat.

Important – Seat-Mounted Airbags

Many modern vehicles have side airbags incorporated into the front seats.

Our universal cover is designed to sit naturally over the front of the seat rather than tightly enclosing its sides. However, vehicle seat and airbag designs vary considerably.

Ivory White is our lightest and most natural-looking option. It is not a bright artificial white – subtle cream and ivory tones are part of the authentic character of genuine sheepskin.

Because sheepskin is a natural product, small variations in wool length, texture and colour are completely normal and make every cover unique.

Ivory White is normally held in stock, while other colours are generally made to order in New Zealand.

Please allow approximately 3–4 weeks for made-to-order covers to be manufactured before shipping.

Caring for Your Sheepskin Car Seat Cover

Regular Care: Occasionally remove the cover and give it a gentle shake to remove loose dust and debris. Brush the wool with a sheepskin care brush to help lift the fibres, maintain its natural loft and reduce matting in high-contact areas.

Spot Cleaning: Attend to spills promptly. Blot excess liquid rather than rubbing, then gently clean the affected area using cold or lukewarm water. For best results, we recommend our Woolskin Wool Wash Sheepskin Shampoo, specially formulated for cleaning genuine sheepskin.

Washing: When a deeper clean is required, we recommend using Woolskin Wool Wash Sheepskin Shampoo rather than ordinary household laundry detergent. It is specifically formulated for genuine sheepskin and helps clean the wool while conditioning the leather. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners and enzyme-based detergents, which can damage the wool fibres and leather.

Drying: Allow the cover to air dry naturally in the shade, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not tumble dry or place directly beside a heater or radiator. Gently reshape the leather while damp and brush the wool once completely dry to help restore its natural appearance.
