Our Classic Premium 12-Pelt Natural Shape Sheepskin Rug is crafted from twelve carefully selected and matched New Zealand sheepskin pelts, expertly joined to create an impressive large-scale rug while retaining the distinctive natural outline of genuine sheepskin. Its generous proportions make it a striking centrepiece for larger living rooms, bedrooms and open-plan spaces.

Made from premium New Zealand-grown sheepskins, every pelt is carefully selected for its wool density, softness, length and overall appearance. Considerable skill goes into matching and positioning all twelve individual pelts so they blend beautifully together, creating a balanced finished rug with a luxurious, consistent wool surface.

The sheepskins are tanned and the finished rug is crafted in New Zealand using a gentle tanning process without harsh chemicals, helping preserve the natural softness, lustre and character of the wool.

Available in Ivory White, Honey, Grey, Chocolate and Black. Our Ivory White retains the natural creamy-white colouring of genuine sheepskin rather than being a bright artificial white, so subtle cream and yellow undertones are part of its authentic character.

As genuine sheepskin is a natural product, no two 12-pelt rugs are exactly alike. Small variations in the natural outline, wool length, texture and colour are part of the character of genuine sheepskin and make every finished rug unique.

Made to Order in New Zealand

Every 12-pelt rug is made to order in New Zealand, allowing our tannery to carefully select and match twelve individual sheepskins specifically for your rug before expertly joining them to create the finished piece.

Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for your rug to be made before it is ready to ship to the UK.

As each 12-pelt rug is individually made to order, we recommend checking your required dimensions and choosing your colour carefully before placing your order.

Caring for Your Large Sheepskin Rug

Regular Care: Regular brushing with a sheepskin care brush helps lift the wool fibres, maintain their softness and reduce matting. When practical, gently shaking the rug or carefully vacuuming on a low-suction setting can help remove loose dust and debris.

Spot Cleaning: Attend to spills promptly using cold or lukewarm water and a suitable wool or sheepskin detergent. Blot and clean gently rather than rubbing vigorously, and avoid unnecessarily soaking the leather beneath the wool.

Professional Cleaning: Although genuine sheepskin can be washed, we do not recommend washing a 12-pelt rug at home. A rug of this size becomes extremely heavy when wet and can be difficult to handle and dry evenly without affecting its shape or softness. For a thorough clean, we recommend using a professional cleaner experienced with genuine sheepskin or leather-backed wool rugs.

What to Avoid: Do not use hot water, bleach, fabric softeners or conventional detergents containing enzymes. Avoid tumble drying and keep a wet or damp rug away from radiators, heaters and other sources of direct heat.
